Who says chocolate cakes (from Modica and pistachios) says Valentine's Day . It's no mystery that the famous chocolate cake with a soft heart (in all its variations, of course) is one of the symbols of Valentine's Day. The reason is obvious: in addition to being super greedy, chocolate is an aphrodisiac food; Valentine's Day, as well as love, is the feast of chocolates . The connection is soon made.
Having said that, how about trying a Sicilian version of the warm-hearted pie with Modica chocolate (one of a kind) and Bronte pistachios (equally inimitable)?

- Add the eggs to the warmed chocolate mixture, one at a time.
- Add the sifted flour, salt and coarsely chopped pistachios , and incorporate them well.
- Transfer the homogeneous mixture into the molds and cook them at 180°C for about 15 minutes.
- Alternatively, cover them with transparent film and let them rest in the freezer for at least 4 hours, or even overnight, before putting them in the oven.
Frozen chocolate cake, oven cooking
If you have frozen the chocolate cake, to cook it, heat the oven to a temperature of 200°C (static mode) and keep it inside for 18 minutes. Once cooked, turn the molds upside down on serving plates, sprinkle the cakes with icing sugar as desired and accompany them with a spoonful of vanilla sauce or a scoop of pistachio ice cream, or garnish them with a dollop of whipped cream and pistachio from Bronte.
Tricks for the chocolate cake
- If this is your first time making them, bake a test pie to check the temperature and cooking times (both may vary slightly depending on your oven).
- To understand when they are cooked, just check that a thin crust has formed on the surface. Do not wait any longer, otherwise the inside will solidify.
- It is strongly recommended to place the tartlets in the freezer : this facilitates the creation of a soft heart after cooking.
- The patties can be kept in the freezer for several weeks, you can make plenty of them and cook them when needed.
